Frederic Beverungen, employee in the model workshop of Herkules in Siegen, has been awarded as the best apprentice in his field in North Rhine-Westphalia. Out of 78,060 examination candidates, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) invited 231 young professionals to an award celebration in Oberhausen.
During the celebration in the Metronom Theater on November 20, 2015, the apprentices with the best examination results were honored for their excellent achievements. Among them: Frederic Beverungen, top of his year in technical model construction in North Rhine-Westphalia. The 20-year-old has just completed his apprenticeship with a specialization in the area of casting in the model workshop at Herkules and the next step in his career is already underway: he is planning to attend a training course to become a master craftsman.
“We are very proud to be among the best in training the next generation of skilled employees,” says Otto Farnschläder, manager of the model workshop. In close cooperation with training manager Rolf Letzerich, the experienced model constructor has been a great support to Frederic Beverungen: “I was never left alone with any problems. Whenever there are any questions, I can rely on my colleagues.” The apprenticeship is demanding, but the decision to start his career at Herkules was an easy one to make for Frederic Beverungen: “The company is well known in the region and has a good reputation. I am fascinated by the size of the machines in particular. There are always exciting projects.” He has big plans for his future at Herkules: “In 2017, I want to start a training course to become a master craftsman.” A scholarship will help him realize his career plans. It was awarded by the IHK for his outstanding examination results and will cover part of the tuition fees.
Maschinenfabrik Herkules Hans Thoma GmbH also received a certificate for excellent achievements as an apprenticing company: the IHK honored its outstanding commitment in dual vocational training.
